Grace Neubert have earned Presidents' Athletic Conference recognition.
Patterson (Butler, Pa./Butler) was named the PAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for action contested the weekend of Aug. 30, while Neubert (St. Marys, Pa./Elk County Catholic) was named the PAC Women's Cross Country Newcomer of the Week.
Patterson, who earns PAC Runner of the Week honors for the eighth time in his stellar career, placed second overall in a field of 64 runners at the Saint Francis University Father Bede Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 31. Patterson covered the 6-kilometer course in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, in 19:07, just four seconds behind individual champion Casey Padgett of Duquesne University. Patterson helped the Bearcat men to a third-place finish in a six-team field, four of which were NCAA Division I institutions.
Neubert began her collegiate career with a bang, placing second in an 82-runner field at Saint Francis, with a time of 14:26 on the 4-kilometer course. She bested 64 NCAA Division I opponents, and finished just six seconds behind individual champ Shaelan McNally of Bucknell University. Neubert's effort led the Bearcats to a four-time finish in a six-team field.
Patterson, Neubert and the Bearcats will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 7, traveling to New Castle, Pennsylvania, to take part in the 2024 PAC Championship Preview at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds.
