LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 16)- The Saint Vincent men's swimming team fell to Mount Union by a score of 152-111 in the Bearcats season opener on Thursday night.
Jacob Dzurica led the way for the Bearcats in their season opener. Duzrica won three events for SVC and placed second in one as well. Dzurica won the 50-yard backstroke (23.86 seconds), 50-yard freestyle (21.31 seconds), and the 100-yard backstroke (52.38 seconds) for Saint Vincent.
He also was apart of the Bearcats second place 200-yard medley relay team.Â
Freshman
William Schauss was big Saint Vincent in his collegiate debut as well. Schauss won the 500-yard freestyle as well as the 1000-yard freestyle in his collegiate debut for Saint Vincent.
Liam Randolph picked up a win and three second place results as well. Randolph won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:08.57. He also finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.55) and the 50-yard breaststroke (27 seconds).
Saint Vincent returns to action on Friday, October 24 as they host Chatham in their first PAC meet of the season. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Frank and Elizabeth Resnick Pool on Friday night.
