LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 18)- The Saint Vincent women's soccer team used a late first half goal to down Westminster in a home PAC matchup on Saturday evening.
Emma Koller scored the difference maker in the victory for the Bearcats (12-2-1, 6-1-1 PAC) in the 36th minute to take down the Titans (1-9-4, 1-5-2 PAC) at home.
Rilyn Warner picked up another shutout victory for Saint Vincent as well, making four saves.
Cori Bieber picked up the assist on Koller's 11th goal of the season.
On top of her goal, Koller led SVC with three shots on goal.
Madisen Geesaman and
Jordan Kirkwood added two shots on goal each, while
Emily Ambrose added a shot on goal as well for the Bearcats.
It was a quiet opening 30 minutes as the game was scoreless in the opening half. Koller scored off of a corner kick from Bieber in the 36th minute to break the scoreless tie and put SVC up 1-0.
In the second half, the Bearcats and Titans shared midfield a lot as SVC came away with the victory, holding on to that 1-0 lead.Â
In the win, the Bearcats outshot the Titans by a 12-6 margin, including 8-4 in shots on goal. Corner kicks were 8-2 in favor of the Bearcats as well.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, October 22 with a big PAC road matchup at Grove City. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Grove City on Wednesday night.
