WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 21)- The Saint Vincent men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 victory at Waynesburg in their fall finale on Tuesday night.
The Bearcats swept the Yellowjackets, winning all seven points in the match to finish the fall with a perfect 2-0 record.
In doubles play, the team of
Matthew Sadusky and
Brady Johnson earned a 6-0 victory in the top doubles spot.
Timothy Jakubek and
J.T. Gockel also earned a 6-1 victory in the second doubles spot, putting the Bearcats up 1-0 in the match. With the doubles point clinched,
Julien Vonovier and
William Hinkson earned a 7-6 victory in third doubles.
Sadusky added his second win of the night with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the top singles spot.
Braden Yokopenic added a 6-1, 6-0 win in third singles and
Anthony Sparta recorded a 6-2, 6-2 victory in fourth singles for the Bearcats.
Gockel and Hinkson both picked up their second wins of the night in singles as well. Gockel earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory in number five singles and Hinkson recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win in the sixth singles position.
With the shutout on the line for SVC, Johnson recorded his second win of the night with an impressive 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 victory to conclude the match and preserve the shutout for Saint Vincent.
Saint Vincent concludes their fall with a 2-0 record and will now prepare for their regular season in the spring.
