The Saint Vincent College men's bowling team made the trip to Lancaster, PA, for a pair of weekend tournaments. The team placed 4th out of 12 schools at the Nittany Lion Cup, hosted by Penn State-Berks, and finished 4th out of 11 schools in the Black & Gold Classic, hosted by Millersville University.
The format for day 1 was four traditional team games, and five Baker games, with total pinfall to determine the winner. Leading the way for the Bearcats was senior Dominick Spence who placed 9th overall, shooting 850 (212.5 average) for four games. Also having a solid performance was sophomore Michael Mullaney, who placed 12th overall shooting 831 (207.8 average).
The high mark of the tournament was the Bearcats shooting a 1051 game 5, led by Spence with a 243 game, while senior James Gatto added a 218, as well as Mullaney with a 207, junior Ryan Schuck (193), and freshman Nick Hepler (190).
The format for day two was 3 traditional team games, 10 Baker games, and total pinfall to determine the winner.
Leading the way for SVC was Gatto who placed 12th overall shooting 605 pins (201.7 average), followed by Mullaney with a 593 series (197.7 average), which placed him 19th overall. Junior Ryan Schuck shot a 576 (192 average), which placed him 28th overall.
In game three of the tournament, the Bearcats shot 1,045 with Mullaney leading with 238.  Sophomore Michael Marts added 233 (with help by Dominick Spence, and Noah Kottelich), Gatto (212), Schuck (192), and Hepler rounded it out at 170.
The Bearcats will be back in action on November 15th as they travel to an Ohio Bowling Conference Tournament, in Columbus, Ohio.
