MONROEVILLE, Pa. (Apr.)- The Saint Vincent men's tennis team earned a 7-0 win against Thiel on senior day on Saturday afternoon.
Saint Vincent (14-2, 3-1 PAC) cruised to the victory, winning all three doubles matches before downing the Tomcats (0-9, 0-6 PAC) in all six singles matches as well.
Brian Lee and
Braden Yokopenic opened the day with a 6-0 victory in the top singles spot.
Jack Citrone and
Matthew Sadusky clinched the doubles point for the Bearcats with a 6-0 victory in the second doubles spot.
Deven Summers and
J.T. Gockel added a 6-0 victory in third doubles with Saint Vincent already up 1-0 in the match.
Lee opened singles play with his second win of the day, winning 6-0 before a retirement from the number one singles player from the Tomcats as the Bearcats lead was 2-0. Johnson followed with his second victory of the day as well, winning 6-1, 6-0 at number four singles as the Bearcats led 3-0. Citrone clinched the match for Saint Vincent with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Sadusky added a 6-3, 6-3 victory at second singles, while
Kyle Murray earned a 6-0, 6-0 win in number six singles. Summers completed the sweep for Saint Vincent with a 6-0, 6-0 victory in the number five singles spot.
The Bearcats return to action on Monday, April 7 with a non-conference matchup against Lancaster Bible College. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. in Lancaster on Monday.
