LATROBE, Pa. (Aug. 31)- The Saint Vincent men's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory against Pitt-Bradford in a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon at UPMC Field.
The Bearcats (2-0) were led by two first half goals, which were all they needed to push past the Panthers for their second straight shutout of the 2025 season.
Cameron Mulvanny and
Oziel Bonola-Soriano were the two goal scorers for Saint Vincent.
Antonio Mendes picked up the lone assist in the win for the Bearcats.
Kameron Rock shut out the Panthers, recording one save in the win.
Saint Vincent picked up right where they left off on Friday night, scoring their first goal just 12 minutes into the game. Mulvanny scored off a free kick to put the Bearcats up 1-0.
The next 32 minutes, there was a lot of back-and-forth as the Bearcats still led 1-0. Bonola-Soriano scored with 54 seconds left in the half to increase the Bearcats lead to 2-0 going into the break.
SVC out shot the Panthers 5-2 in the first half.
After a red card in the second half forced the Bearcats to play a man down for most of the half, the Saint Vincent defense held strong, shutting out the Panthers and limiting them to just four shots to preserve the shut out and victory.
In the win, Saint Vincent allowed the Panthers to record just one shot on goal.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, September 3 with a home non-conference matchup against Muskingum. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at UPMC Field on Wednesday night.
