LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 27)- The Saint Vincent men's soccer team earned a 4-0 Presidents Athletic Conference victory against Thiel on Saturday evening at UPMC Field.
The Bearcats (7-2-1, 1-1 PAC) had four different goal scorers in route to taking down the Tomcats (3-6, 0-2 PAC) for their first PAC win of the season.
Saint Vincent out shot the Tomcats by a significant 15-2 margin, including 8-1 in shots on goal.
Jayden Gyan, Will Labruno,
Daniel Maddock, and
Iverson Agyei scored the four goals for SVC. Maddock also picked up an assist, while
Jose Hurtado and
Emerson Kiss also picked up assists in the win as well.
Kameron Rock picked up the shut out win in net, making one save for SVC.
After a scoreless opening 15 minutes, Gyan got the scoring started for SVC, scoring on an assist from Maddock to put Saint Vincent up 1-0 in the game. That 1-0 score would hold going into the half.
To open the second half, Labruno scored to double the Bearcats lead. The SVC scoring continued as Maddock found the back of the net on an assist from Hurtado to increase their lead to 3-0.
With the game already in hand, Agyei added a goal on an assist from Kiss coming in the 83rd minute to secure the 4-0 victory.
SVC totaled six corner kicks in comparison to just one from Thiel.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Tuesday, September 30 with a trip to Bethany for a PAC matchup. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at Bethany on Tuesday.
