ALTOONA, Pa. (Sept. 8)- The Saint Vincent women's golf team won the two-day Penn State-Altoona Invitational on Sunday and Monday at Sinking Valley Country Club.
Lucy Brayton earned the individual medalist honor, winning the two-day tournament by one stroke.
In the five team field, the Bearcats defeated Allegheny by one stroke to win the event as a team. Brayton carded rounds of 78 and 80 to help lead Saint Vincent to the victory. In her opening round, she carded nine pars and one birdie, before following that up with 11 pars in the final round to earn the one shot victory.
Myla Burchill placed sixth overall for Saint Vincent. The freshman recorded rounds of 89 and 92 for SVC. Over the two-day tournament she recorded seven pars and two birdies.
Elizabeth DeLo shot rounds of 94 and 93 over the two-day tournament for the Bearcats as well. She recorded 11 pars over her two rounds.
Kylee Yoder added rounds of 101 and 104, while
Charlotte Jordan totaled scores of 132 and 117 for Saint Vincent.
The Bearcats return to action on Monday, September 15, hosting the annual Saint Vincent Women's Golf Invitational at historic Latrobe Country Club. Tee times are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. next Monday in Latrobe.
