LATROBE, Pa. (Feb. 28, 2026) – The Saint Vincent College women's lacrosse team delivered a complete performance on Saturday afternoon at UPMC Field, pulling away for a decisive 16-5 non-conference victory over the Pitt-Bradford.
With the win, the Bearcats improved to 2-1 on the young season, while Pitt-Bradford fell to 1-3 overall.
Saint Vincent wasted little time setting the tone, striking four times in the opening quarter to seize early control. The Bearcats capitalized on strong draw play and aggressive rides to create offensive opportunities, converting efficiently in transition while limiting the Panthers' possessions. SVC carried an 8-4 advantage into halftime after matching its four-goal first quarter output in the second period.
The Bearcats continued to press the advantage in the third, outscoring Pitt-Bradford 4-0 in the frame to stretch the lead to 12-4 heading into the final quarter. Saint Vincent's defensive pressure intensified after the break, forcing turnovers and limiting clean looks at goal. The Bearcats then closed the contest in dominant fashion, adding four more goals in the fourth while holding the Panthers to just one goal over the final 15 minutes.
Offensively, Saint Vincent showcased balanced scoring throughout the lineup.
