IMMACULATA, Pa. (Mar. 14)- The Saint Vincent men's tennis team swept a doubleheader at Immaculata on Saturday afternoon.
The Bearcats won the opener 6-1 before winning the finale by a 4-3 score to earn the sweep.
Match 1- Saint Vincent 6, Immaculata 1
The Bearcats won all three in doubles to claim the doubles point in the opener. All three won by scores of 6-2.Â
Blaise Bukovac and
Braden Yokopenic teamed up in the top spot, while
Brady Johnson and
Matthew Sadusky played at number two, and
Julien Vonovier and
J.T. Gockel played at third doubles.
In singles, Yokopenic earned a 6-2, 2-6, 10-4 victory in the top spot. Sadusky picked up his second win of the afternoon with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.Â
Brady Johnson earned a 7-6, 6-0 victory at number four singles, while
William Hinkson IV won 6-3, 3-6, 12-10 at number five singles and
Adam Vilmos Pasztor picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the number six position for the Bearcats.
Match 2- Saint Vincent 4, Immaculata 3
Once again the Bearcats claimed the doubles point. However, this time they won two out of three matches to claim the point.Â
Yokopenic and Johnson picked up a 6-2 victory in the second doubles position, while Vonovier and Hinkson earned a 6-3 victory in the third spot.
At number three singles, Johnson continued his impressive afternoon with a 6-0, 6-1 victory for the Bearcats. Hinkson added a 6-1, 6-3 victory at number five singles and
Julian Watson earned a 6-0 victory before a medical retirement in the number six singles spot.
Saint Vincent returns to action on Friday, March 20 as they open up PAC play at Waynesburg. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
