LATROBE, Pa. (Mar. 28) — The Saint Vincent College men's tennis team earned its sixth consecutive victory on Saturday afternoon, posting a 7-0 sweep over Mount Aloysius College at the SVC Courts on senior day.
With the win, the Bearcats improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.
Saint Vincent grabbed the early advantage by sweeping doubles competition to claim the match's first point.
Brady Johnson and
J.T. Gockel earned a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles, while
Matthew Sadusky and
Kyle Murray cruised to a 6-0 victory at No. 2.
Julien Vonovier and
Anthony Sparta were also awarded a win by forfeit at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, the Bearcats won all six flights to complete the shutout. At No. 1, Sadusky battled back after dropping the opening set to defeat Tristen Ruffley in a super tiebreak, 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8).
Johnson followed with a 6-2, 6-0 straight-set victory at No. 2, while Gockel earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3.
Vonovier added a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 4 singles, and Sparta posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5. Murray rounded out the Saint Vincent effort with a win by forfeit at No. 6 singles, as the Bearcats secured the 7-0 team victory.
Prior to the match, Saint Vincent honored their six seniors.

Saint Vincent will return to action tomorrow, Sunday, March 29 with a home PAC matchup against Allegheny. The match is scheduled to begin at 12 noon at the SVC Courts.
