LATROBE, Pa. (Apr. 17)- The Saint Vincent men's tennis team earn an important 5-2 home Presidents Athletic Conference win against Waynesburg on Friday afternoon at the SVC Courts.
With the regular season finale victory, the Bearcats have clinched a home playoff match in next week's PAC playoffs.
The Bearcats started the day off on a strong note, sweeping all three doubles matches.
Blaise Bukovac and
Braden Yokopenic teamed up to earn a 6-0 win in the top doubles position.
Brady Johnson and
Matthew Sadusky earned a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles and
Julien Vonovier and
Kyle Murray picked up a 7-5 victory in the third doubles spot as SVC took a 1-0 lead into singles play.
Saint Vincent took the momentum into singles play as the Bearcats won four of the six singles matches.
In the top singles spot, Yokopenic picked up his second victory of the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-2 victory in the top singles spot. Sadusky also picked up his second victory of the afternoon with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 victory in number three singles for the Bearcats.
Brady Johnson added a 6-4, 6-3 win in number four singles and Murray added a second victory with a 6-2, 7-5 win at number six singles.
The Bearcats conclude the regular season with a 14-5 overall record, including a 5-3 record in PAC play. SVC has clinched a home playoff match and will play at home on Tuesday, April 21 against an opponent and start time to be determined.
