Biography
CAREER: Concludes her four-year career as one of the top offensive players in Division III women's lacrosse history. She finishes her career as the NCAA Division III all-time leader in goals with 364. She ranks second all-time in Division III with 489 career points. She also set NCAA Division III records for single-season goals (141), single-season points (178), points in a single game (19), goals per game in a season (8.81 per game) and points per game in a season (11.12 per game) during her senior season. She tallied 212 draw controls and 146 ground balls during her time with the program. A four-time All-ORLC player, including a three-time first team selection. She named ECAC Offensive Player of the Year twice and was voted ORLC Offensive Player of the Year twice. Named All-ECAC First Team three times. Earned IWLCA All-West Region honors as a senior.Â
2018: Named an IWLCA All-West Region performer. Voted Offensive Player of the Year by both the ECAC and the ORLC for the second straight season. Named First Team All-ORLC for a third straight season and fourth time overall. Was recognized as a First Team selection by the ECAC for a second straight season. Named a Google Cloud Academic All-District 4 At-Large selection by CoSIDA. Was selected as Saint Vincent's female representative at the PAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year banquet. Was listed in the "Faces In The Crowd" feature in the May 21st issue of Sports Illustrated. She set six NCAA Division III records during the season: single-season goals (141), single-season points (178), points in a single game (19), career goals (364), goals per game in a season (8.81 per game) and points per game in a season (11.12 per game). With four goals in her final collegiate game in the ORLC Tournament semifinals against W&J, she eclipsed Ashley Hansbury of Curry College as the all-time leading goal scorer in Division III history. Hansbury's record of 362 career goals had stood since the 2011 season. Set an NCAA Division III single-game points record with 19 points (11 goals, 8 assists) against Chatham University on April 11. She scored double-digit goals in 11 of the 16 games, including a career-high and Bearcat program best 13 goals against Hanover College on April 28. She had been named Ohio River Lacrosse Conference Offensive Player of the Week five times and earned ECAC South Offensive Player of the Week four times. She had been tabbed IWLCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week twice. She added 60 draw controls and 42 ground balls to fill her stat sheet. Named to the PAC Spring Academic Honor Roll and the ECAC President's Honor Roll.Â
2017: Named ECAC South Offensive Player of the Year and was an All-ECAC South First Team selection. Picked as the Ohio River Lacrosse Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was an All-ORLC First Team selection. Led all Division III women's lacrosse players with 134 points. The total ties for the 12th highest single-season point total in Division III women's lacrosse history. Established new single-season school records for goals (86) and points (134). Set career school records for goals (223) and points (311). Tallied 65 draw controls tied for fifth-most in the league, while her 40 ground balls ranked 12th in the league. Tallied 50 goals and 27 assists for a total of 77 points in the nine  ORLC contests. Posted seven or more points in 11-of-17 matches during the season. Registered a career single-game high nine goals twice (at Transylvania on April 2 and against Thiel on April 26). Recorded double-digit points four times, including a pair of 14-point performances. Named ORLC Offensive Player of the Week twice and ECAC South Offensive Player of the Week once. Will enter her senior season with 223 goals and 311 points through her first three seasons. Member of the PAC Spring Academic Honor Roll. Member of the IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll.Â
2016: Named First Team All-ECAC South Region. Also earned First-Team All-ORLC accolades at midfield. Ranked among the top scorers in all of Division III. Scored an ORLC-best 71 goals as a sophomore, breaking her own single-season goal record. Added 25 assists to total 96 points overall, the most among all ORLC players. Put together a .546 shot percentage and a .792 shot on goal percentage. Also chipped in 39 ground balls, 29 draw controls and 11 caused turnovers in 2016. Had a season-high nine points against Waynesburg on March 29. Tallied a match-best eight points in the ORLC semifinals against Transylvania. Was named ORLC Offensive Player of the Week on April 25. Earned All-PAC Honorable Mention honors as a member of the women's soccer team in the fall.
2015: Recognized as Second Team All-ORLC. Set the SVC single-season goals record with 66 goals as a freshman. Tallied 15 assists and totaled 81 points, ranking as second most on the squad. Scored at least four goals in a match nine different times. Totaled 9 goals and 12 points in the ORLC Tournament, helping guide SVC to the conference championship. Earned 58 draw controls and picked up 25 ground balls on the season.Â
HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years of soccer and lacrosse at Saint John's Catholic Prep in Maryland. Earned all-county first-team honors and was the leading scorer in Frederick County. Was named an IAAM all-star.
PERSONAL: Daughter of John and Karen Nelson. Majoring in secondary education mathematics at Saint Vincent. Â Also a member of the SVC soccer team.
