Saint Vincent College

Tyler Huether

Wide receivers coach Tyler Huether joined the Saint Vincent staff in January of 2019 after spending two seasons with California University of Pennsylvania.

During the COVID-abbreviated spring 2021 season, Huether's receivers helped quarterback Brady Walker rank among the top three in the PAC in passing yards, touchdowns and efficiency, as the squad totaled 10 touchdown receptions over the four-game season and a combined 930 yards. Keith Kalp earned All-PAC accolades after leading the Bearcats - and ranking third in the conference - with 23 receptions, while scoring a pair of touchdowns. In his first season at receiver, converted defensive back Jeremy Wodarek made three touchdown catches and averaged 26.8 yards per reception, while Phil Harding averaged 17.2 yards per grab.

During his two-year stint at California, Huether coached a trio of running backs at that combined for nearly 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns despite the loss of an All-PSAC West First-Team selection just one-third of the way through the season.

Prior to joining Cal U, Huether spent four years as an assistant coach in the local high school ranks. He returned to his alma mater, Penn-Trafford, in 2010, before serving two years as the quarterbacks coach at Franklin Regional. Huether later spent the 2016 season as the offensive coordinator at Yough.

Huether was a standout quarterback at Clarion University 2006-09, accounting for over 6,800 yards of total offense in his career. He ranks among the top five all-time in school history in completions, attempts and passing yards.

As a senior in 2009, Huether set a career high with nearly 2,250 passing yards while also rushing for almost 300 yards and eight touchdowns. He played a pivotal role in Clarion finishing with an 8-3 overall record despite winning only a combined four games the previous three years.

Huether earned induction into the Penn-Traffford Football Hall of Fame after a record-breaking high school career, as he totaled more than 5,600 passing yards and threw for nearly 50 touchdowns.

Huether earned his bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with a minor in athletic coaching from Clarion in 2010.
