Jonty Loukes joined the men's soccer program as a graduate assistant for the 2015 season.Loukes is originally from Sheffield, England. His involvement with soccer began as a youth at Barnsley Football Club, where he spent 8 years in the Academy. In 2006, he signed a professional contract and became a first team player at Barnsley Football Club. In 2008, he joined Stafford Rangers Football club where he was a first team player through 2009.
In pursuit of a coaching career, Jonty earned an Edexcel Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Sport (Performance and Excellence) as well as an FA Level 2 Coaching License. His coaching career includes involvement and active participation in respected soccer organizations in England with Sheffield Wednesday Football in the Community, Barnsley FC Football in the Community, and Sheffield United Football in the Community. Since arriving in The U.S. Jonty has attained his NSCAA Advanced National coaching license as well as the U.S. Youth Development License.
Jonty left England for Michigan in 2009 to further his coaching career with Midwest Soccer Academy. He spent some time with Genesee Star Soccer Club, and was soon placed in Youngwood, PA with Foothills Soccer Club where he is currently the Director of Coaching for Girls’ Soccer.
In 2012, Jonty had the opportunity to attend Point Park and become a part of the Men’s Soccer Team. In his 3 years with the team, he accumulated 15 goals and 23 assists making him second in assists in school history. He was team captain in 2013 and 2014. He was also NAIA Scholar-Athlete in both 2013 and 2014. In 2013 and 2014 he was named to the KIAC All-Conference Team, and also received runner up in KIAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2013. In 2012, the team qualified for the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in team history and added to another appearance in the National Tournament in 2013.
Jonty graduated in 2014 from Point Park Magna Cum Laude, with a B.A in Citizenship-Secondary Education. He is currently studying for a M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction at Saint Vincent College.
