Saint Vincent College

Joey Smith 2023

Joey Smith

Joey Smith joined the Saint Vincent College coaching staff in July 2022 after a stellar four-year playing career for the Bearcats.

A native of Kent Island, Maryland, Smith starred for the Bearcat women's lacrosse team. She ranks third all-time in program history with 227 career points and 122 career assists, while her 105 goals are seventh all-time.

Smith was a three-time All-Presidents' Athletic Conference honoree. As a freshman in 2019, she earned Second Team All-PAC honors after totaling 45 points, on 23 goals and 22 assists, in 12 games. After SVC's 2020 season was lost to the COVID-19 pandemic, Smith earned First Team All-PAC in 2021, recording 21 goals and a PAC-leading 32 assists.

Smith would then close out her career in fine fashion in 2022, finishing as the conference leader in both points (113) and assists (60), while ranking third in the PAC with 53 goals enroute to her second straight First Team All-PAC nod. It marked just the ninth 50-goal season for a Bearcat women's lacrosse player, while the 113 points and 60 assists were both the third-most in a single season in team history.

Smith graduated from Saint Vincent College in May 2022 with a bachelor's degree in public policy analysis and is currently enrolled in Saint Vincent College's Master of Science in Management: Operational Excellence graduate program.Â
