Biography
2022-23: Apart of the winning 200 medley relay team at the Franciscan meet (10/8), while also being apart of the second place 200 freestyle relay team, finishing with a time of 1:59.39 ... in the first home meet of the season against Penn State- Altoona (10/22), she was apart of the first place 200-yard medley relay team, while also picking up individual wins in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke ... was apart of the second place 200-yard medley relay team, while also finishing in second place in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:45.53) in the away meet at Allegheny (10/28).
2021-22: Named First Team All-PAC ... Also named to the PAC Academic Honor Roll ... Claimed gold in the 100 breaststroke, third in the 200 breaststroke, and eighth in the 200 IM ... Apart of the second-place 200 medley relay team.
2021: Named First Team All-PAC for the second year in a row. PAC Champion in the 100 Breast for the second year in a row and helped SVC to a first-place finish in the 400 Medley Relay. Finished third in the 200 Breast. Also competed in the 200 IM, 200 Medley Relay, 200 Free Relay and the 800 Free Relay. Member of the PAC Academic Honor Roll.
2019-20: Named First Team All-PAC as a freshman. PAC Champion in the 100 Breast and helped the Bearcats to a runner-up finish in the 400 Medley Relay. Also competed in the 200 Breast, 200 IM, 200 Medley Relay, 400 and 800 Free Relays. Named PAC Rookie of the Week on January 20.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-sport athlete at Somerset HS, competing in soccer, swimming and track. Named All-Somerset County First Team twice in soccer, and served as team captain. In swimming, was twice named CWAAC First Team. Â
PERSONAL: Daughter of Philip and Tammie Basala, majoring in Biochemistry at Saint Vincent. Also a member of the SVC soccer team.
