Andres Mateos-Carrion joined the Saint Vincent men's soccer coaching staff in the Fall of 2024 after a four-year career in the midfield for the Bearcats.
Mateos-Carrion, originally from Alicante, Spain, started in 52 games for Saint Vincent as a center defensive midfielder, including starting all 18 matches for the team in his senior season. During his senior year, the Bearcats conceded the third-fewest number of goals in conference play. He concluded his career with 3 goals and 4 assists on the attacking end.
After his senior season, Mateos-Carrion was awarded the John Granish Award by the SVC Athletic Department, established in 1985 to honor the late SVC men's soccer coach. The award recognizes student-athletes who made the most of their ability through hard work, dedication and determination to their sport through their four years as a Bearcat.
Mateos-Carrion, who graduated in May 2024 from Saint Vincent with a degree in mechanical engineering, attended high school at Saint Benedict's Prep in Newark, NJ.
