Shawn Pilyih joined the SVC staff for the 2024-25 season as a volunteer assistant coach. He brings decades of coaching experience to work with the junior varsity program.
A longtime head coach for Shaler Area High School, Shawn has also served as the director of the Western PA High School Regional tournament and Pennsylvania State HS Championships since 2019. From 2012-2023, he was secretary of the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Bowling League (WPIBL), and also worked for more than six years as director/vice president of the Greater Pittsburgh USBC Youth Bowling Association.
He has prior college coaching experience working with Robert Morris University from 1998-2000 as an assistant coach, and bowled for the Colonials while earning his degree in Finance. He and his wife, Chris, have three daughters, Sami, Bella and Lexi.
