Kris Smith led the SVC swimming team to a fourth-place finish at the 2022 PAC Championships. His top performance came in the 200 individual medley, where he placed first in a time of 1:57.53 to win by a two-second margin. It was the first of two individual events in which he finished on the podium, as he finished eighth in the 200 backstroke, while he was a part of three relay teams that finished fourth, including the 200 freestyle relay, the 400 medley relay, and the 400 freestyle relay.
