Q: What is your favorite part of the job?
A: "Working with and building relationships with our student-athletes. Also, all of my coworkers make the atmosphere really fun, where I can walk up and down the hallway every day and have great conversation with each of them."
Q: What makes Saint Vincent College a unique and enjoyable place to work and coach?
A:Â "The family culture we have built both around our teams and around the athletic department make every day enjoyable."
Q: What is your typical pre-game ritual?
A: "Typically, I try to get the gym set up at least three hours before game time, and then I can relax, get changed and make sure our staff is ready to go."
Q: Favorite movie?
A: "Hitch"
Q: Who is your favorite all-time athlete?
A: "Michael Jordan or Tom Brady."
Q: What is your favorite television show?
A: "Friends."
Q: On a day off from coaching and away from campus, what can you be found doing?
A: "I can be found hanging out with my nieces and nephews, or my friends. In the fall/winter, I can be found at any Steelers' home game. In the summer, I can be found lying by the pool!"
Q: What is your proudest coaching accomplishment?
A: "I have three proud moments. First, being the youngest coach in Pennsylvania history to win both a WPIAL and PIAA state volleyball title. Second, becoming the head men's volleyball coach at Saint Vincent and winning my first game. And third, seeing our program grow into having a winning season and making it to the semifinals of the AMCC playoffs."
Q: Who is a coach that you look up to?
A: "I can't say I look to just one coach in particular. I pull different things from different coaches to form my own coaching style. I look up to Coach Mike Krzyzewski for his intense ways; Dawn Staley for always being her true self; and really anyone who is trying to break barriers and make coaching better each day they step onto the field or court."
Q: Why should a student-athlete choose to attend Saint Vincent to continue his or her academic and athletic careers?
A: "I feel that our community and family atmosphere are not comparable to any other school. Also, if athletics might not work out for the student, the College provides unparalleled academic support so many other opportunities across the community. Our students truly are pushed to succeed not only on the court and field, but also in the classroom and, most importantly, once they leave Saint Vincent."
