Raiders down Saint Vincent


FULL RESULTS

The visiting University of Mount Union Raiders defeated Saint Vincent 133-105 in non-conference women's swimming action at the Resnik Pool.

The sophomore duo of Mary Kate Kenna and Katie Custer led the Bearcats on the afternoon.  Kenna earned an individual victory in the 200 Breast, timed in 2:38.02, while taking second in the 100 Breast (1:13.55), and third in both the 100 Breast and 200 Individual Medley.

Custer captured first in the 50 Free, with a time of 25.34, while taking second in the 100 Free (57.25) and third in the 100 Butterfly (1:05.65.)

Christine Dunleavy added the Bearcats' third first-place finish of the afternoon, capturing the 100 Breast with a time of 1:12.76.

Carolyn Claybrooks turned in a pair of second-place finishes, turning in a time of 11:33.30 in the 1000 Free and 5:35.26 in the 500 Free.  The Saint Vincent 200 Free Relay foursome of Maggie Dempsey, Custer, Hale, and Jess Kennedy also earned second, with a time of 1:45.85.

Other SVC third place finishes included Kelsey Linstrum in the 1000 Free, Kennedy the 200 Free, and Amanda Haile the 500 Free.   

The Bearcats (2-2) will now have a three-week layoff over winter break, returning to action on January 8th at 1pm against Presidents' Athletic Conference foe Washington & Jefferson at the Resnik Pool.
