FULL RESULTS
Visiting Washington & Jefferson College swept the Bearcat swimmers in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Resnik Pool, as the SVC men fell by a score of 150-105, and the Lady Bearcats lost 145-110.
With the loss, the Bearcat men fall to 1-4 overall, and 0-2 in the PAC, while the Lady Bearcats drop to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the PAC.
In men's action, the Bearcats turned in three individual victories, and eight second place finishes on the day. SVC's first win came in the 1000 Free, as Zack Krejdovsky won with a time of 10:43.56. Dan Kostovny took first in the 200 Breast, timed in 2:28.07, while Sam Cline was victorious in the 500 Free, turning in a time of 5:08.80, just .25 seconds ahead of Krejdovsky, who took second.
Kostovny also added a second-place finish in the 100 Breaststroke, with a time of 1:08.66, while Casey Whittaker turned in a trio of second-place times, doing so in the 200 Fly, 100 Fly, and 200 Individual Medley. Matt Linebaugh took second in the 100 Free, with a time of 52.42, while Logan Dorminey touched second in the 50 Free, finishing in 23.59 seconds.
In relay action, Saint Vincent also turned in a pair of second-place finishes. Adam Thomas, Whittaker, Kostovny, and Dorminey teamed up to take second in the 200 Medley Relay (1:47.52), while Thomas, Matt Linebaugh, Troy Linebaugh, and Dorminey earned second in the 200 Free Relay, with a time of 1:35.36.
The women's face featured a pair of individual victories for the Lady Bearcats, as Christine Dunleavy won the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:12.92, and Mary Kate Kenna took first in the 200 Breaststroke, timed in 2:37.77.
Carolyn Claybrooks earned a pair of second-place finishes for Saint Vincent, doing so in the 200 Free (2:05.26) and 500 Free (5:35.98), while Amanda Haile finished second in the 1000 Free, timed in 11:53.17, four seconds ahead of teammate Kelsey Linstrum, who took third.
Both relay races saw the Lady Bearcats earn second place. In the 200 Medley, Jess Kennedy, Dunleavy, Claybrooks, and Maggie Dempsey teamed up to turn in a time of 1:59.54, while the 200 Free Relay saw Haley Kroll, Haile, Dunleavy, and Claybrooks finish second in a time of 1:55.96.
Both Saint Vincent swim teams will return to action next Saturday afternoon, in a non-conference tri-meet hosted by West Virginia Wesleyan with Davis & Elkins, a pair of Division-II foes.
