The Saint Vincent College women's tennis team improved to 6-0 on the season by beating Seton Hill 5-4 in the Battle of Route 30. It was the second win of the season for the  Bearcats against a Division II team.

The match began outside at the SVC Courts where Seton Hill jumped out to a 2-1 lead during doubles. The third doubles team of Stephanie Rubin and Emily Morris won 8-6 for SVC, preventing a Seton Hill doubles sweep.

After doubles play ended, rain began to fall and the match was moved indoors to the Greensburg Racquet Club. The format of the match was changed from best of three sets to a 10 game pro set in order to speed up play.

The change of venue sparked a Bearcat rally as Emily Morris and Jessica McKetta won at fifth and sixth singles to forge a 3-3 tie. Due to a lack of court availability, the first through third singles matches started playing only after the Bearcats had tied up the match.

Amanda Gans won 10-5 at second singles to put the Bearcats one point away from winning the match. Alexis Cup ran out to a 6-1 lead at first singles, but ended up losing a close match 10-8. The match rested on the outcome of the third singles contest between SVC's Morgan Dolinar and Seton Hill's Lauren Duffy. Dolinar clinched the match with 10-5 win. She pulled away at the end of the match, winning the last three games.

Saint Vincent (6-0) returns to action in an important contest Sunday at home against Westminster, one of two teams to finish ahead of them in the PAC last year.  The match will begin at 1PM.  Later that afternoon, at 5PM, the team will head to the Greensburg Racquet Club to face Pitt-Greensburg, which calls the indoor site their home.
