LATROBE (Jan. 14) - Both of the Saint Vincent swimming teams claimed their first Presidents' Athletic Conference victories of the year over Bethany at the Frank & Elizabeth Resnik Pool.
The men's team won handily, 106-22, while the women Bearcats were victorious, 123-74, on the afternoon.
On the men's side, freshman
Zach Ligus set a new pool record with a time of one minute, 47.52 seconds. Ligus also posted a wins in the 200 backstroke, finishing in 2:01.50, and the 200 IM with a time of 2:02.76.
In the women's race, freshman
Molly McCloskey won the 200 butterfly by an impressive 14 seconds with a time of 2:21.22. McCloskey also posted a win in the 200 backstroke, touching the wall in 2:23.08.
Senior
Christine Dunleavy sprinted to a win in the 50 free with a time of 26.29.
SVC returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 18, when the women host Chatham in a PAC meet at 6 p.m. Both teams will be home on Saturday, Jan. 21 hosting Penn State-Altoona at 1 p.m.
