Women's Swimming downs Chatham, 101-58



FULL RESULTS

LATROBE (Jan. 18) - The Saint Vincent women's swimming team extended its winning streak to two meets with a 101-58 home victory over Chatham in Presidents' Athletic Conference at the Frank & Elizabeth Resnik Pool.

With the win, the Bearcats improve to 4-3 on the season and even their PAC-mark at 2-2. Chatham falls to 2-8 overall and 0-4 in league meets.

SVC started the night with a nine-plus second victory in the 200 medley relay as the team of Jess Smrekar, Christine Dunleavy, Alyssa Taylor and Katie Custer posted a time of 1:56.50.

Sarah Robbins was victorious in the 1000 freestyle by an impressive 26 seconds, finishing up with a time of 11:22.95.

Custer touched the wall in 2:05.49 in the 200 freestyle to win by nearly four seconds while Paige Pecora sprinted to a time of 26.03 to claim victory in the 50 freestyle.

Molly McCloskey defeated teammates Jayne Cline and Kelsey Linstrum in the 400 IM by 13 seconds, touching the wall in 5:14.62. Shortly after, Robbins outraced Maggie Dempsey in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.44 against Dempsey's 58.49.

Both Bearcat swims teams return to action on Saturday, Jan. 21, hosting Penn State-Altoona at the Resnik Pool at 1 p.m.
