BOX SCORE

The Saint Vincent women's tennis team capped a perfect season in the conference with a 6-3 victory over undefeated Westminster College on the road to secure first place 2012.

Both teams entered the day 13-0 and 8-0 in the conference.

Saint Vincent captured two of three doubles matches, with Stephanie Rubin/Jacquelyn Hauser winning their match 8-6, while Jessica McKetta and Kylie Auman were 8-5 winners.  All three matches were hotly contested, as Amanda Gans/Shayla Landman dropped their match by an 8-6 score.

In singles, Gans was a winner in the #1 spot, 6-4, 7-5 over Alex Bailey.  Shayla Landman, trying to keep her unbeaten streak for the season alive, won the first set 6-2 over Caitlin Hosler, then dropped the second set 4-6.  In the full third set, Landman was a 6-4 winner.

Rubin went to three sets in her match, dropping the third set 6-4 to Jane Larson.

Hauser lost her first set in added play, 7-5, then fell 6-1 to Heather Santa in the second set.

Both McKetta and Auman, in the #5 and #6 singles positions, respectively, were straight set winners.

The team will wrap up the regular season on Monday with a non-conference matchup against Division II West Liberty State.
