Tennis team splits four matches in South Carolina

The Saint Vincent women's tennis team completed its Spring Break Trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina by splitting four matches.

Against Baldwin-Wallace, the Bearcats lost a close 5-4 decision.  Singles winners were Amanda Gans, Emily Morris and Jessa Paruch.  In doubles play, the team of Morris and Paruch earned a victory.

The team rebounded with a 5-4 win over Northwestern College of Minnesota, winning three singles and a pair of doubles matches.  Alexis Cup, Gans and Woloshun were winners in singles, while the teams of Cup/Gans and Morris/Paruch earned doubles victories.

Saint Vincent was dominant in an 8-1 victory over Alvernia College, winning five of six singles matches along with all three in doubles.  Cup, Gans, Morris, Kylie Auman and Woloshun were winners in individual play, while the teams of Cup/Gans, Morris/Paruch and Janelle Giunta/Chantal Mitchell were winners in tandem play.

Finally, the team wrapped up the trip with a 7-2 loss to Lebanon Valley College that was considerably closer than the final score shows.  Auman, playing in the #6 singles position, won her match, then teamed with Jessica McKetta to win in doubles play.

The team will now return home and await the Fall 2012 schedule.
