FULL RESULTS

LATROBE (Nov. 2) - Despite winning seven of 14 events, the Saint Vincent men's swimming team fell short against Grove City, 142-120, in the Presidents' Athletic Conference opener for both teams at the Resnik Pool.

The Bearcats posted wins in the 200 medley relay, 1650, 200 and 100 freestyle, 200 and 100 backstroke, and 100 butterfly.

Tom Nielsen, Andy Moog, Xander Emili and Adam Tran kicked off the event with their 200 medley relay win, posting a time of 1:41.34.

Matt Crum won the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:20.92, while Matt Linebaugh won the 200 freestyle in 1:50.97 and Zach Ligus won the 100 freestyle by almost a second with a time of 49.36. Ligus later won the 100 butterfly in 54.25.

Nielsen posted his second win of the day in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall in 58.28. Moog and Emili split the 200 backstroke, tying with a time of 2:23.91.

The Bearcats are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 9 with a quad meet at York (Pa.) with Dickinson and St. Mary's (Pa.).
