SVC competes in four-team meet at York


FULL RESULTS

The Saint Vincent swimming teams competed in a four-team meet at York College (PA), winning one of three matches each for the men and women.

The men were victorious over Saint Mary's College (MD), falling to Dickinson and host York.  The women defeated York while falling just four points short against Saint Mary's, and also lost to Dickinson.

In women's competition, Marissa Frollo won the 50 Free in 25.22, while teammate Paige Pecora finished second (25.58).  Frollo and Pecora also finished first and second in the 100 Free, timed in 55.72 and 56.05, respectively. 

Sarah Robbins finished third in the 200 Freestyle, timed in 2:02.72, while Jess Smrekar was second in the 200 Back (2:21.08).

In relays, the SVC women took second and third in the 400 Free Relay. 

For the men, Zach Ligus won the 200 Free (1:47.55), more than two seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.  He also captured the 200 Fly in 2:01.83. 

Matt Linebaugh was third in the 50 Free (22.56), while Xander Emili was second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.00.  Henry Signore finished third in the 500 Free in 5:07.91.

The relay team of Ligus, Allen Sant, Emili and Linebaugh finished first in the 400 Free in 3:18.96.

Saint Vincent will travel to Alliance, Ohio on Friday at 5PM to face the University of Mount Union in non-conference action.
