BOX SCOREIn a Senior Day match that was started on the outdoor campus courts, delayed due to rain and finished at the Greensburg Racquet Club, the Bearcat women's tennis team posted a 7-2 victory over visiting Geneva College.
Prior to the start of the match, seniors
Kylie Auman and
Regina Woloshun were honored for their contributions to the team over the past four seasons. Â
Just 20 minutes into the 3:30PM match, the rains came, and players were forced off the court in the middle of doubles play. Â The teams then headed a few miles west on Route 30 to the indoor facility, resuming play at 4:45PM. Â
SVC earned victories in two of three doubles matches, with
Jackii Hauser and
Susie Ellis winning the #1 match, 8-0. Â
Breana Liberoni and
Maria Gismondi won the #3 doubles match by a score of 8-4.
The Bearcats then won five of six singles matches, as Hauser, Auman, Ellis, Woloshun and
Hannah Kahn all posted straight set wins. Â Liberoni dropped her singles match in a third-set tiebreaker. Â
Due to the late change in plans, court space was limited and the match was spread out over the next 4 1/2 hours, concluding at 9:15PM.
