FULL RESULTSThe Saint Vincent swimming teams opened the 2014-15 season by competing against both NCAA Division II and III teams in the Westminster Relays in New Wilmington, PA.
SVC's first top-three finish of the night came in the men's 3x100 butterfly relay, as
Xander Emili,
Adam Gordish and
Zach Ligus finished second to Gannon University, timed in 2:41.91.
The women's team picked up its first top-three in the 800 free relay, as
Sarah Robbins,
Marissa Frollo,
Casi Smith and
Molly McCloskey finished third behind Gannon and Westminster in a time of 8:38.50.
The men earned a third place finish in the 500 crescendo relay, as the team of
Chad Linebaugh,
Nick Patton,
Marshall Grubb and
Allen Sant were timed in 4:43.83. Â In the 400 medley relay, Emili,
Andy Moog, Ligus and
Alex Bolen finished a strong third in 3:42.10.
The team of Robbins,
Jess Smrekar,
Paige Pecora and Frollo turned in one of the women's team's top performance of the night, taking second in th 200 free relay behind Gannon, timed in 1:44.24. Â Later in the evening, Frollo,
Katelyn Miller, Robbins and Pecora finished second in the 400 free relay in 3:49.13.
In the men's 3x500 free relay,
Sean Doyle, Gordish, and
Matt Crum finished third in 15:53.14, while Emili, Kam Faychak, Moog and Doyle finished third in the 400 IM relay, in 3:55.86. Â
The Bearcats open Presidents' Athletic Conference competition on November 1 at Grove City.
