GREENSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 3) - The Saint Vincent women's tennis team snapped a two-game losing streak by earning an 8-1 victory over rival Waynesburg in Presidents' Athletic Conference play. The Bearcats swept the singles matches and won two of three matches in doubles play.
Junior
Jackii Hauser won 6-2 and 6-1 at first singles. Senior
Kylie Auman had little trouble at second singles, gaining an easy straight set victory, 6-1 and 6-1. Sophomore
Susie Ellis also had an easy time, winning 6-2 and 6-0 at third singles. Sophomore Breann Liberoni won 6-3 and 6-3 at fourth singles. Senior
Regina Woloshun won her match in three sets, beating Lauren Cowden of Waynesburg, at number five singles. Rounding out the singles matches was a win by junior
Hannah Kahn at number six singles.
Hauser and Ellis nearly swept through their match at number one doubles, winning by a score of 8-1. Auman and Woloshun earned an 8-5 victory at number two doubles. Sophomore
Maria Gismondi and Liberoni dropped a hard-fought match at number three doubles, 8-6.
Saint Vincent (6-4, 4-2) returns to action when they travel to Washington and Jefferson on Friday, Oct. 10. Match time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
