TEAM RESULTSINDIVIDUAL RESULTSYORK, Pa. (Nov. 8) - The Saint Vincent men's and women's swimming teams traveled across the state to compete in a road quad meet at York College.
The Bearcat men went 1-2 on the afternoon, defeating St. Mary's College (MD), 109-95. SVC then dropped matches to York (108-96) and Dickinson College (111.5-92.5).
Senior
Zach Ligus continued his strong work, earning a first place finish in the 50 Free, with a time of 21.86. Ligus then finished in first place in the 200 Yard Butterfly, with a time of 1:59.92.
Sophomore
Xander Emili finished first in the 200 Yard IM, with a time of 2:01.61. Emili then added a first place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle, touching the wall at 48.53.
The Bearcats got a second place finish in the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle from freshman
Alex Bolen, who finished in 1:48.92.
Senior
Andy Moog finished in fourth place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, with a time of 2:18.55. The Bearcats relay team of Emili, Bolen,
Brian Flynn and
Matt Crum finished in fourth place in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, with a time of 3:22.53. The Bearcats team of Moog,
Adam Tran,
Kyle Garase and
Allen Sant finished in fourth place in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, finishing up in 3:48.32.
The Saint Vincent women also put together a 1-2 record in the quad meet. The Bearcats defeated host York by a 135.5 to 65.5 score but fell to Dickinson (133-70) and St. Mary's College (116-83).
Saint Vincent put together a strong showing in the 50 Yard Freestyle, as sophomore
Marissa Frollo and senior
Paige Pecora finished in first and second place, respectively. Frollo finished in 25.13, while Pecora was just off the pace at 25.70. Frollo and Pecora also finished first and second in the 100 Yard Freestyle, with times of 56.29 and 26.30, respectively.
The relay team of
Sarah Robbins, Alexis Ferraro, Pecora and Frollo finished in first place in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. The relay team put together the top time of 3:46.18.
The Bearcats relay team of
Jess Smrekar,
Kristina Boburka,
Katelyn Miller and Robbins finished in third place in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, with a time of 4:22.16.
Freshman
Marla Turk came in fourth place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle, with a time of 11:33.29. Turk came in fifth place in the 200 Yard IM, with a time of 2:21.71.
Senior
Kristina Boburka put together a fourth place finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, coming in at 2:46.35.
Ferraro finished in fifth place in the 200 Yard Freestyle, touching the wall in 2:03.82. Smrekar added a fifth place finish in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, coming in at 2:21.18.
The Bearcat men's record now sits at 3-2 overall, while the women's team is now 1-4 overall.
Both teams now have some time off before jumping back into competition on Friday, Nov. 21, traveling to Lancaster, Pa. to compete in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
