The Saint Vincent women's tennis team lost its season opener on the road at Franciscan University of Steubenville (OH) by a score of 5-4 despite a strong comeback in singles play.

After doubles, the Bearcats trailed 3-0, but picked up straight-set wins from Jackii Hauser at #1 singles, Kylie Auman at #2, Susie Ellis at #3 and Regina Woloshun, playing at #6.  However, the Barons were winners at #4 and #5 singles, holding on for a 5-4 win.

The non-conference matchup was a prelude to Saturday's conference opener, as the Bearcats continue on their road trip to Cincinnati, where they will face the Thomas More College Saints in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.  The match has been moved indoor to the 5 Seasons Tennis Club at 2PM.
