FULL RESULTSThe SVC women's swimming team swept a conference tri-meet over Chatham University and Bethany College, on the road in West Virginia.
Saint Vincent defeated Chatham 185-102, and overpowered Bethany by a score of 190-57.
The day began with the SVC 200 Medley Relay team of
Jess Smrekar,
Alexis Ferraco,
Sarah Robbins and
Marissa Frollo taking first place in 1:56.72, more than six seconds ahead of second place Chatham.
In the 1000 Free, Robbins finished second in 11:44.21, while
Molly McCloskey followed with a win in the 200 Free, timed in 2:07.81, holding on for a narrow .07 win. Â SVC's
Katelyn Miller was third in 2:08.02.
Gianna Boburka picked up a third place finish in the 100 Back, in 1:07.58, while Ferraco won the next event, the 100 Breaststroke in 1:13.28. Â In the 200 Fly, Frollo earned first with a time of 2:27.72, while
Casi Smith was third in 2:37.85.
SVC dominated the 50 Free, as
Paige Pecora (25.34), Miller (26.73) and McCloskey (27.62) took the top three positions. Â Miller then returned a short while later to win the 100 Free in 57.84.
Marla Turk was the winner in the 200 Back, with a time of 2:14.54, with
Kristina Boburka winning the 200 Breaststroke in 2:47.49.
In the 500 Free, SVC took the top two positions, as Robbins was first in 5:40.95, ahead of
Gianna Boburka in 5:54.86. Â In the 100 Fly, Ferraco was second in 1:04.21, while
Alyssa Grieco was third in 1:09.55.
McCloskey won the 200 IM by more than three seconds, timed in 2:28.20, while Smith was third in 2:32.70.
SVC finished the day by with Frollo, Robbins, Pecora and Ferraco winning the 200 Free Relay in 1:41.47.
Next up for the team will be a trip to Westminster next Saturday, January 24.
