WASHINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 24) - First place Washington & Jefferson pulled away in the second half to defeat the SVC women's soccer team 3-0 at Alexandre Stadium in Washington, Pa.
The Presidents got an early goal in the 3rd minute from Jordan Toohey, who tallied her PAC leading 26th score of the season, giving W&J a 1-0 lead.
The score remained 1-0 W&J through halftime until the Presidents added an insurance goal in the 73rd minute. Another tally by the Presidents made it 3-0 to close out the scoring.
W&J held a 13-to-1 edge in shots, including a 12-1 advantage on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper
Corinne Burk made five saves in the loss.
Saint Vincent sits at 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. The Presidents continue to sit in first place in the league with a 7-0 record and are 13-1-1 overall.
SVC wraps up the home portion of its schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 28, when they host the Chatham Cougars.
