BOX SCORELATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 4) - The Saint Vincent women's tennis team downed Pitt Greensburg 7-2 in non-conference action on Senior Day.
With the win, the Bearcats improve to 6-4 overall. Meanwhile, UPG drops to 9-2 on the season.
The day got started with SVC sweeping the doubles matches. Seniors
Jackii Hauser and
Amanda Marker teamed up at third doubles for an 8-1 win on Senior Day. The freshman tandem of
Lucy Bujdos and
Autumn Miller took the top doubles spot 9-8 (7-5). Juniors
Maria Gismondi and
Anita Onufer won 8-2 at the second doubles position.
Junior
Susie Ellis won 8-4 at the top singles position in a match that concluded early due to darkness. Hauser breezed through at second singles, winning 6-1 and 6-0. Onufer earned victory, 6-4 and 6-0, at fifth singles.
Breana Liberoni took her match at sixth singles by a 6-3 and 6-0 score.
Saint Vincent returns to action at home against PAC rival W&J on Wednesday, Oct. 4. Start time is set for 3:30 p.m.
