Meghan Smith and Maggie Nelson each scored a pair of goals as Saint Vincent defeated Marietta College by a score of 5-0 in non-conference play on the SVC Turf.

Natalie Luppold added the other Bearcat goal, and Corinne Burk recorded the shutout in the net, making three saves.

Smith started the scoring in the game's 7th minute, as the Marietta keeper attempted to clear the ball, but it was played right to Smith, who tallied what would prove to be the game-winner.

Less than two minutes later, Emily Johns sent a corner kick that curved into the box, caught the front edge of the post and caromed right to Luppold, who headed it into the net to make it 2-0.

Nelson got into the action in the 17th minute, as Calsey Holshue headed a pass beyond a defender, right to the foot of Nelson who scored to make it 3-0.

Early in the second half, Smith sent a ball past her defender to a wide-open Nelson who beat the keeper into the lower right corner to run the score to 4-0, and Smith ended the scoring with a header into the net off a Johns corner in the 61st minute.

Saint Vincent is now 2-4 on the season and will return to action on Saturday (September 19), hosting Hilbert at 1PM on the SVC Turf.
