BOX SCORELATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 26) - The Westminster Titans defeated the Saint Vincent women's tennis team 6-3 in a matchup of unbeaten teams in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.
With the loss, Saint Vincent falls to 4-1 in the PAC and 5-4 overall. Westminster improved to 3-0 in the conference and 4-2 overall.
Junior
Susie Ellis led the Bearcats in the loss. Ellis claimed a victory at first singles in three sets. After dropping the first set 6-3, Ellis responded with a 7-6 win in set two and a 6-4 advantage in the decisive set.
Freshman
Lucy Bujdos was the Bearcats other winner in singles action. Like Ellis, Bujdos also dropped her first set before rallying with scores of 7-6 and 6-1 to win at third singles.
Ellis teamed up with senior
Jackii Hauser to provide the Bearcats lone doubles victory. Ellis and Hauser used an 8-5 score to take home the victory at first doubles.
Saint Vincent returns to action with a non-conference matchup against Geneva College on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The Bearcats beat the Golden Tornadoes earlier this month 7-2 in a conference matchup. Start time for this contest is at 4 p.m.
