FULL RESULTSMEADVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 30) - The Saint Vincent women's swim team earned wins over Allegheny College and Penn State Behrend to push its winning streak to four straight.
The Bearcats won 185-101 over host Allegheny and used a 211-42 margin to best Penn State Behrend.
Freshman
Maddie Bartrug led the way for the Bearcats, earning four first place finishes. Bartrug was first in the 50 Free (24.91), the 500 Free (5:14.83), 200 Free (1:55.99) and part of the 200 Free Relay team that came in first (1:41.01). Joining Bartrug on that quartet was
Marissa Frollo,
Cassie Trudel and
Ciara Lewis.
The SVC relay team of Trudel,
Grace Reynolds,
Kat Guevara and Lewis came in first place in the 200 Medley Relay, with a time of 1:53.16.
Hannah Barkey came in tops in the 1000 Free, touching the wall at 11:22.27.
Guevara came in first in the 100 Fly (1:01.39), the 200 Fly (2:19.09) and third in the 200 IM (2:20.81). Lewis came in first place in the 100 Free (55.12), beating out Frollo who finished in second (55.46). Lewis added a second place finish in the 50 Free (25.61).
Kelly Kramer had a solid day, posting a first place finish in the 200 Breast (2:34.36), while coming in second place in the 100 Breast (1:12.46) and second in the 200 IM (2:17.68). Reynolds was first in the 100 Breast, with a time of 1:10.16, and finished third in the 200 Breast (2:40.12).
Frollo came in second place in the 100 Fly, posting a time of 1:02.95, coming in just behind Guevara. Trudel and
Sarah Sheldon came in second and third respectively in the 100 Back, posting times of 1:01.97 and 1:02.97.
SVC improves its overall record to 8-3 for the 2015-16 season. The Bearcats return to action with the PAC Championships on Feb. 11-13. The three day event is hosted by Grove City College.
