BETHANY, W.Va. (Oct. 11) - The Saint Vincent men's soccer team dropped a 5-1 road decision to Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference action.
The host Bison got on the board early, taking a lead with a goal from Jack Waters in the 9th minute. Bethany added to its lead with another Waters goal in the 32nd minute, taking a 2-0 edge into halftime.
Zach Kocak scored for a third straight game, scoring on a header off a pass from
Lionel Whitcombe in the 52nd minute. The Kocak score cut the Bison lead to 2-1 but hosts would add three more goals in the second half for the victory.
Bethany out-shot SVC by a 30-8 margin, including a 12-4 margin on goal. Both teams attempted four corner kicks.
Freshman goalkeeper
Nick Bohn started in goal, allowing five goals while also making five saves.
Matthew Balas relived Bohn and made two saves.
Saint Vincent drops to 1-3 in PAC play and 2-11 overall. Bethany improves to 2-1 in the league and 6-6-2 overall.
SVC hosts Grove City on Saturday, Oct. 15. Start time is set for 11 a.m. against the Wolverines.
