The Saint Vincent women's team hosted Bethany to open the home portion of the 2016-2017 season. The women were victorious by a 110-74 score in the Presidents' Athletic Conference matchup.
The women opened the meet with a sweep in the 200 Medley relay by
Cassie Trudel,
Nicolette Smith,
Sarah Sheldon, and
Skylar Piper with a time or 2:02.42.
Ciara Lewis,
Claire Kenna,
Amelia Rashid and
Carolyn Welka clocked in second with a time of 2:04.96 and
Melissa Anderson,
Gabby Bobak, Sam Mears, and
Hannah Barkey in third (2:05.43).
Jill Cline had a dominating performance in the 1650 free, winning the event in a time of 20:31.92.
Amanda Gretz came in second and Arianne Winkleblech in third.
In the 200 Free, Barkey was the winner with a time of 2:05.48, In the 100 Backstroke,
Bayle Shreve came in first with a time of 1:07.25 just head of teammate
Gianna Boburka (1:08.68) and Anderson (1:13.62).
Another sweep for the women in the 100 Breaststroke, as Kenna came in first with a time of 1:16.21, Rashid clocked in second with a time of 1:16.78, and
Nicolette Smith in third at 1:22.16.
Maddie Bartrug finished first in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:21.97 ahead of
Marla Turk in second and
Casi Smith in third. Bartrug added another first place finish in the 200 Individual Medley.
Samantha Mears won the 50 Free with a time of 26.95 behind her was Grove and Piper in second and third respectively. In the 100 Free, Kenna was the winner with a time of 58.26.
Lewis put together a strong performance in the 200 Back, winning the event with a time of 2:20.73.
Grace Reynolds was the winner of the 200 Breaststroke (2:35.13) just ahead of teammates Grove and Frollo.
Sweeping the women's 500 Free, Turk put together a time of 5:36.64, with teammates Boburka in second (6:00.62) and Rashid in third 6:22.98.
Later in the meet, Kramer won the 100 Fly with a time of 1:02.33. The quartet of Bartrug, Nicki Smith, Piper, and Anderson wrapped things up with a win in the 200 Free Relay.
The Bearcats will be on the road next Saturday, October 29 for another Presidents' Athletic Conference match against Grove City at 1 p.m.
