The Saint VIncent women's volleyball team rallied to capture a conference match at Thiel with a 16-14 victory in the tie-breaking fifth game.

Danielle Wassick tallied the final two points as the team fought its way to a 3-2 match victory.
Saint Vincent won the first two games of the night 26-24 and 25-20, but the hosts came back to avoid the sweep by winning game three, 25-15. The Tomcats then sent it to a deciding fifth game by winning 25-20 in the fourth.
SVC led much of the way in the fifth game, holding a 13-10 lead before a Thiel timeout. The Tomcats then rallied for three straight points to tie it at 13-13. SVC earned the next point to bring it to match point, but Thiel again scored to tie the game at 14-14. SVC then tallied the next two points to secure the win.
It was a balanced attack for the Bearcats, with four players posting double-digit kills. O'Dell led the way with 12, while
Emily Vaughan and
Emily Samara had 11 each and Sarah Wozniak had 10. O'Dell had 25 assists, while
Nina Beatrice recorded 15. Vaughan led the defense with 21 digs, while Beatrice had 15 and
Courtney Meyer and
Madison Cooper had 14 each. Wozniak had 5 blocks, while O'Dell had four on the night.
Saint Vincent is now 6-11 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, 13-18 overall. Thiel drops to 5-12 in the PAC, 12-18 overall. The Bearcats will wrap up their season at home on Saturday (October 29), hosting Washington & Jefferson at 3PM. The match will serve as Senior Day for the Bearcats, as they will honor Vaughan, Samara and
Kayla Stockenus prior to the match with the Presidents.
