The Saint Vincent women's tennis team won its third in a row, topping Thiel College by a score of 9-0 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match.
SVC opened a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Â
Susie Ellis and
Lucy Bujdos were 8-1 winners in the #1 match, while
Autumn Miller and
Breana Liberoni were 8-4 winners in the second match. Â In the #3 position, teammates
Anita Onufer and
Maria Gismondi won by an 8-1 margin over their opponents.
Ellis and Bujdos were dominant in the top two singles spots, outscoring their opponents by a combined 24-1. Â In the #4 match, Liberoni had the longest event of the day, winning 7-6 (7-5 tiebreak) and 6-3. Â Miller (#3), Onufer (#5) and
Claudia Clemens (#6) were all straight set winners.
Saint Vincent is now 4-3 in the PAC, 7-6 overall. Â The team will be back in action on Tuesday (October 11), hosting Grove City at 3PM in the final regular season match of the year. Â The PAC Championships are slated for October 21-22.
