The Saint Vincent women's tennis team won its third in a row, topping Thiel College by a score of 9-0 in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match.
SVC opened a 3-0 lead after doubles play.
Susie Ellis and
Lucy Bujdos were 8-1 winners in the #1 match, while
Autumn Miller and
Breana Liberoni were 8-4 winners in the second match. In the #3 position, teammates
Anita Onufer and
Maria Gismondi won by an 8-1 margin over their opponents.
Ellis and Bujdos were dominant in the top two singles spots, outscoring their opponents by a combined 24-1. In the #4 match, Liberoni had the longest event of the day, winning 7-6 (7-5 tiebreak) and 6-3. Miller (#3), Onufer (#5) and
Claudia Clemens (#6) were all straight set winners.
Saint Vincent is now 4-3 in the PAC, 7-6 overall. The team will be back in action on Tuesday (October 11), hosting Grove City at 3PM in the final regular season match of the year. The PAC Championships are slated for October 21-22.
