PHOTO GALLERYLATROBE, Pa. (March 23) - The Saint Vincent men's lacrosse team defeated the visiting Bethany Bison 14-4 in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference action at the SVC Turf.
Seven different Bearcats scored in the victory, including a team-high four goals from
Jeremy Kennedy.
Hunter Sharp opened the scoring with a goal at the 14:30 mark of the first quarter. After the Bison answered back to tie the game, Kennedy tallied the next four goals to give SVC a 5-1 advantage. After
Alex Mueser added another SVC score, Bethany answered with the final score of the quarter, making it 6-2 SVC.
The Bearcats got two goals from
Brendon Masten and one from
Jon Souders to push the halftime advantage to 9-2. SVC kept the Bison on the board in the third quarter as well, while adding four more goals to take a 13-2 advantage after three quarters. Sharp,

Anthony Hogeback and Masten recorded the third quarter goals.
Hogeback scored a man-up goal in the fourth to wrap up the Bearcat scoring. Bethany would tally the final two goals to close the scoring at 14-4 in favor of SVC.
Kennedy recorded a team-high five points to lead the Bearcat offense. Masten had three goals and an assist to total four points. Hogeback had four points (two assists, two goals), while Souders chipped in three points.
Senior goalie
Greg Gonzalez got the start and win in net, recording six saves in 45 minutes of action. Sophomore
Connor McMillen played the fourth quarter and made four saves.
As a team, the Bearcats held a 48-23 advantage in shots. The Bison committed 25 turnovers to just 12 for SVC. The Bearcats picked up 43 ground balls and were successful on 20-of-23 clear attempts.
The win improves the Bearcats to 2-4 overall and evens their ORLC record at 1-1. Bethany dropped to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in the league.
The Bearcats return to action when they host Baldwin Wallace University for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, March 30. Start time is slated for 4 p.m.
