The SVC men's soccer team lost to NAIA program Point Park University by a score of 4-1 at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh.
The Pioneers jumped to the early lead less than two minutes into play and eventually took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break. Â
After the hosts had increased the lead to 3-0,Â
Zach D'Amico tallied the lone Bearcat goal in the 72nd minute. Â
Mark O'Grady sent a long pass into the box and D'Amico beat the keeper to put the Bearcats on the board. Â However, the Pioneers added a goal three minutes later off a rebound to complete the scoring.
Point Park outshot SVC 22-9, with a 14-7 edge in shots on goal. Â
Nick Bohn kept the game close for the Bearcats, making 10 saves in the net.
The Bearcats are now 1-5 on the season, and will travel to New York to face Hilbert College on Saturday (September 17). Â
