The Bearcat men's soccer team took an early lead, but lost to Penn State-Altoona on the road by a score of 6-1.
Zach D'Amico got Saint Vincent on the board in the game's 5th minute, scoring off a deflection after a corner kick to put the visiting Bearcats in front, 1-0.
However, the Lions scored in the 23rd minute off a rebound after a free kick, then added another goal just before halftime to take a 2-1 lead into the break. Â In the second half, Altoona added four goals in a 20-minute span to put the game out of reach.
The Lions were dominant throughout the game, outshooting SVC by a 34-10 margin. Â
Zach Kocak led the Bearcats with four shots. Â
Nick Bohn started and made 9 saves in the net.
Saint Vincent drops to 1-7 overall on the season, while the Lions improve to 4-3. Â The Bearcats will travel to Maryland on Saturday (September 24) to face Hood College. Â
