LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 22) - Behind a solid overall team effort, the Saint Vincent women's tennis team defeated Waynesburg University 9-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference play.
The tandem of senior
Lauren Campbell and junior
Emily Egler got the Bearcats off to a fast start, earning a quick 8-0 victory at third doubles. The victory was the first for the duo as doubles partners and helped set the tone for the match.
Also playing together for the first time this season, sophomore
Carson Snyder and freshman Kate Palko, earned an 8-1 victory at second doubles. Senior
Breana Liberoni and sophomore
Autumn Miller, playing up a spot at first doubles, gained an 8-6 victory to help SVC take all three doubles matches.

Claudia Clemens (fifth singles) and senior
Sarah Selip (sixth singles) all won without dropping a game, taking their contests 6-0 and 6-0. Sophomore
Lucy Bujdos claimed the first singles match, 6-4 and 6-0. Meanwhile, Liberoni helped the Bearcats to a sweep, with a 6-2 and 6-0 decision at third singles.
The Bearcats improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in PAC play. Waynesburg slips to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in league play.
Saint Vincent returns to action when they host Franciscan University for Senior Day on Saturday, Sept. 24. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
